The Rev. Scott Nonken was ordained a deacon on December 1, 2018. Since his ordination, Scott has been serving at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter in St. Petersburg. In addition to his service at the Cathedral, Scott is actively involved with the Kairos prison ministry at the Zephyrhills Correctional Institute. Scott is originally from Kansas, and has been in the Tampa/St. Pete area since 2010. He works full-time for a national firm providing information systems support for the Federal Government. Scott received his BS in Computer Science from Southwestern College, Winfield, KS and a Masters in Leadership and Liberal Studies from Duquesne University. He completed his ministerial training in the Diocese of Southwest Florida School for Ministry, and is also a Brother in Companions of St. Luke (a Benedictine Community in the Episcopal Church) where he is known by his religious name Br. Anskar. Scott has been assisting at the Chapel Center for the past two years, and looks forward to continuing the good work begun by Mthr. Adrienne Hymes.
